Next Assassin’s Creed To Be Revealed

Along with the Sony announcement this week, Ubisoft has some news of their very own. It seems the recent rumors involving their newest title are also true.

On the 27th of February, Ubisoft will be holding a private event in London that leads to the reveal of a new installment in the AC franchise.  Based off the building that the event is being held in, speculation would suggest the the game will take place during WWII. Others can assume it may take place in London. It’s all up for debate until the day of the announcement.

More speculation for the game can be found here. As far as the series though, the time period is one of my last concerns. Being a huge fan of the Assassin’s Creed series, I have reservations as far as the plot that takes place in modern time goes. It’s always come off as an after thought for most players. As of late however, it seems more like an unwanted obligation to the developers. Desmond story, in my mind, has been a bit lacking form the start and the failed attempts to make his journey one of remembrance and interest is getting old and annoying.
The fact that “the end” of this journey was Boba Fett’d in a way makes me even more concerned.

As always, I play the games out of pure enjoyment of the world building and historical ties to a fictional universe but, I feel the story that takes place in modern day should be given much more attention than it has in the past.
